Baumer Proximity Switches & Sensors
Baumer Electric is one of the first manufacturers of inductive non-contact proximity sensors and proximity switches. These sensors are capable of a wide variety of applications.

There are two basic design types:
- Sensors is simple digital output providing accurate on/off positioning
- Sensors with analog outputs to determine position of machine parts
Sensors are available from 3 to 30mm designs including quick disconnect M8 or M12 connectors. Sensors are available in a round or flat pack orientation for your most demanding applications. Specialty sensors have been designed for welding immunity and high pressure ranges up to 7400psig (500 bar).
Baumer offers inductive measurement proximity sensors with a high resolution of 0.1µm for the most demanding applications. Some of these sensors are used in robot grippers and Baumer responds to the market demand by offering a self contained proximity switch starting in the 3mm range.
The food industry recently has requested and all stainless steel sensor with an extended temperature range of -25 to 100°C (IP 69K). Baumer offers a full line of proximity sensors for this market called the DuroProx for daily use under the harshest industrial conditions.
